We met at a Halloween Party and made plans to attend a Fall Swing Dance in Douglas Houghton Hall (fellow MTU grads will know the place!) Anton asked Moira for her number, and the rest is history.

Some time later (the life of a student is busy!) we had our first official date at the Keweenaw Brewing Company bar in Houghton. After drinks, we took a walk down the Portage Canal-- Moira showed Anton the MTU substation, and Anton showed Moira the rock collection at the GMES department.

The summer 2023 was our first time apart for any significant period as Moira departed for her summer internship at NUCOR and Anton remained in Houghton for the Geology and Geophysics Field Courses. As for any smitten lovebirds, absence only makes the heart grow fonder.

With the practiced ease of a professional, Moira navigated her internship at NUCOR in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Moira and Anton attended the Kloess Wedding in Columbus, and Anton met Moira's parents. Afterwards, we set out on a road-trip across the great American heartland.

It was difficult to choose just one photo of this great trip, but this picture in Mammoth Cave National Park will do the trick.

Moira met Anton's family in Houghton that fall. In this picture, Moira navigates Mrs. Smirnov's famous blindfolded donut catching challenge (you had to be there).

Moira graduated from MTU in the spring of 2024 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
